Algo Trading Course in Kochi

Kochi handles a particular kind of money. Kerala receives more remittance from the Gulf than any other state, and a large share of it lands here before it goes anywhere else — into deposits, into gold, into land around MG Road and Kakkanad.

What has changed in the last few years is that the generation receiving it no longer wants all of it sitting in a fixed deposit. They want to participate in markets systematically, and many of them are asking from Dubai, Doha or Muscat rather than from Kerala.

If you are an NRI, read this before anything else

This is the part that decides what you can build, and almost nobody mentions it on a course page.

Non-resident Indians face restrictions on how they can participate in Indian equity that residents do not. The broad framework, as it has stood for years: an NRI invests through an NRO or NRE account, equity investment on a repatriable basis runs through the Portfolio Investment Scheme with a designated bank, and — the one that matters most here — intraday equity trading is not available to NRIs. Equity purchases must be taken to delivery. Short selling and BTST are out for the same reason.

Derivatives are treated separately. NRIs can generally trade F&O through a non-PIS account with a custodian and a CP code allotted for the purpose, subject to the limits the exchange and custodian apply.

Why this matters for automation: a large share of retail algo strategies are intraday equity strategies, and if you hold an NRI account those are simply not available to you. What is available is positional equity, and derivatives if you complete the custodian arrangement. That changes what you should learn to build, not whether you should learn.

These rules are set by RBI, SEBI and your broker, and they do move. Confirm your current position with your broker and your bank before assuming any of the above still applies to your account — do not take an article's word for it, including this one.

For residents in Kochi, the picture is simpler

If you live here and hold an ordinary resident account, none of the above applies to you and the full range is open — intraday, positional, derivatives, whatever your strategy calls for.

The audience we hear from most in this group works around Kakkanad Infopark or runs a business in the city. The complaint is consistent: plenty of advice available locally, very little instruction. Somebody will happily tell you which stock to buy. Almost nobody will teach you a repeatable method for deciding that yourself, and the difference between those two things is the difference between a tip and a skill.

What the course covers

Fifty-plus modules: Python from zero, the Zerodha Kite Connect API, backtesting with brokerage and slippage subtracted, automated entry and exit, a scanner built to your own filters, live market data in Excel, a virtual trading system for practice without real money, and deployment on a cloud VPS with a static IP registered under the SEBI algo framework.

Delivery is online and the modules are recorded, which is the only format that works for an audience spread across Kerala and the Gulf. A student in Dubai and a student in Ernakulam get the same material and the same WhatsApp support channel; the time difference is irrelevant when nothing is scheduled.

The practical prerequisite either way is a trading and Demat account with a broker whose API you can use, since that supplies both your historical data and your orders.

Learning from another time zone

A recurring question from Gulf-based students: can this be learned and run from outside India? The learning, yes, entirely. The running is where it gets interesting, and in a good way.

A deployed system is indifferent to where its owner is. It runs on a server in India, it places orders during Indian market hours, and it writes a log you read whenever your day allows. Somebody in Doha checking a log at ten at night is in exactly the same position as somebody in Kochi checking it at eight thirty — both are reviewing what already happened rather than watching it happen.

That is genuinely a better fit than discretionary trading, which asks you to be alert during a window that may fall in the middle of your working day abroad.

There is a related question this audience asks that deserves a straight answer: is this better than gold or property, which is where Kerala money has traditionally gone? Not comparable, and not a competitor. Gold and land are stores of value that need no attention. An automated strategy is an activity that needs building, testing and monitoring, and it can lose money in a way a plot of land generally does not. If the honest reason you are here is that deposits feel unrewarding, the first step is understanding markets, not automating them — and that is a cheaper course than this one.

We do not sell tips, we do not run a signal group, we manage nobody's money, and we make no claim about returns. Trading carries a real risk of loss. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the fee for the algo trading course in Kochi?

Rs 24,900 as a one-time payment, covering all 50+ modules, lifetime access, future updates and WhatsApp support. A free demo comes before you pay.

Can NRIs do algo trading in India?

Within the limits that apply to NRI accounts. The significant one is that intraday equity trading is not available to NRIs - equity has to be taken to delivery - so intraday equity strategies are off the table. Positional equity works, and F&O is generally possible through a non-PIS account with a custodian and CP code. Confirm the current position with your broker and bank, since these rules do change.

Can I take the course from the Gulf?

Yes. Modules are recorded and support is on WhatsApp, so nothing is scheduled and the time difference does not matter. A deployed system runs on a server in India regardless of where you are.

Is there a classroom in Kochi?

No. Everything is online with WhatsApp support, which is how students across India and abroad take it. Our only office is in Indore.

I have no coding background. Is this realistic?

Yes. The course starts from Python basics and the subset a trading system needs is small - variables, lists, conditions, loops, functions, and how to call an API. If you can build a formula in Excel, this is within reach.
